“Magedong-gedongan” is a ceremony for a mother with 7 months old pregnancy. It is an effort to purify and maintain the safety of the fetus and the mother, hoping the newborn baby will grow up as a good person or “suputra” and play important role both for the family and society.

The series of ceremonies include; 1) husband prepares black threads, and is accompanied by his wife, 2) prepares “glanggang /galah buluh” in which bamboo is used to mash “kumbang” leaves (a kind of taro), shaped like a package and inside it filled with freshwater fishes; 3) The wife upholds (nyuun) “Ceraken”, then blessed with mantra by the Priest, and in turn, the wife then spawned a pair of rubies.
